Medical Acupuncture

Chiropractors, physiotherapists, or naturopathic doctors providing medical acupuncture or dry needling services have undergone extensive additional training. Treatments can usually be painless but vary on a patient to patient basis. These treatments have been demonstrated to be an effective intervention for many conditions. 

Services include:

Medical acupuncture whereby dry needle insertion is utilized for the purpose of inducing a physiological response. Treatment is typically administered with electrical stimulation.
Functional dry needling whereby dry needle insertion is utilized to elicit a muscular twitch response to decrease muscle tone. 

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Acupuncture involves the use of very fine sterile needles inserted into points along the skin, primarily along meridians.  

Please note that most insurance providers require the provider to be a licensed Acupuncturist to claim benefits if your plan includes acupuncture.
